FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Students of Jamestown’s Lawn Avenue School Produce Film About A Child’s Rights to Healthy Food

North Kingstown, RI May 18, 2007

In October 2006, Ms. Barone’s 6th grade students were introduced to a new world of possibilities and invited to participate in a novel educational film program called Student Provocateurs (http://www.studentprovocateurs.com). Student Provocateurs was founded by Bradford Davey of North Kingstown as part of an action research project through the School of Education at Pepperdine University. Ms Barone’s students have worked very hard to create an original feature film that addresses an important issue in such a way to increase the dialogue of those who watch it. Mr. Davey has created this film program to increase student awareness of democratic participation, the importance of mindful presentation, and the power of the medium of film.

Please join the Lawn Avenue School (http://www.jamestownri.com/school/lawnave.htm) community, Ms. Barone and her entire class, Mr. Davey, The Organic Center (http://www.Organic-Center.org), Casey Farms (http://www.historicnewengland.org/visit/homes/casey.htm), and many more for the premier showing of the students' powerful film.

The film will be shown at the Melrose school on Saturday night June 2nd, 2007 at 7:30 PM

Please contact Mr. Bradford Davey for additional information at 401 465-9323.
